Frequently Asked Questions
-
Start by booking a free consultation or sending us an enquiry with your date, venue and guest numbers. We'll talk through your plans and send you a clear quote. To secure your date, pay the £200 hire fee and a 25% holding deposit against your minimum spend, unless a booked package already covers it. We'll then confirm your bar, drinks and timings closer to the day.

At weddings, it may be possible for you to provide your own table wine, reception drinks, etc. But we do not allow you to stock a card/prepaid bar with your own alcohol for weddings unless you opt for a dry hire service.
For some private and corporate events, we may allow you to provide your own alcohol; however, this will need to be discussed and agreed upon before the event.
Any such requests must be made at the time of booking and agreed by Host Bar Hire in writing.

If we have not been to the venue before, then ideally we would like to visit it beforehand.
However, if that is not possible, we are happy to talk to the venue in advance. Where possible, we like to set up the day before to ensure everything is ready to go for your special event.
On the day, we arrive three hours before your event starts, so the bar is set up, stocked and ready before your first guest arrives.
-
Bookings start at six hours of bar service, and there's no cap after that. Your bar can run for as long as your party does.
-
At Host, we are smart casual and usually wear black polo shirts and either black or dark trousers/skirt.
These are paired with branded aprons. If you require a specific uniform style, please let us know.
-
Every booking includes two bar staff and a bar manager as part of your hire fee, which covers events of up to 100 guests. For larger events, extra staff can be added at £17.50 per person per hour, or a day rate if that works out cheaper.
-
We like to serve all of our drinks in real glassware where possible; a selection of both real and eco-disposable glassware is provided with every booking.
If glassware isn’t permitted, then an additional cost may be incurred if we have to provide only eco-plastic.
If we have to use plastic, we always ensure that this is NOT single-use; we always look to source eco-friendly or reusable plastic, and use paper straws as standard.
-
Travel within 50 miles of Wymondham, Norfolk, is included.
We're happy to travel further, and often do, but this will usually incur additional costs, which we'll quote before you book.
-
At Host Bar Hire, we’re transparent about our pricing, and a minimum spend applies to our bar service.
The amount depends on your event, including guest numbers and whether you plan to supply additional alcohol.
We’ll clearly explain and agree the minimum spend with you before you book, so you know exactly what to expect. However, this is almost always capped at our standard minimum spend of £1,800 (VAT inclusive).
For corporate events and prepaid bar packages, a minimum order quantity may also apply.
Get in touch to discuss your plans, and we’ll talk you through the options and costs upfront.
If your event doesn’t need a minimum spend, we won’t apply one.

If a licence is required and the venue’s premises licence does not cover the sale or supply of alcohol, one of our personal licence holders will submit a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) for your event. We ask for at least three weeks’ notice so the application can reach the local authority in good time.
Host Bar Hire also holds the relevant personal licences to authorise the sale or supply of alcohol at your event. Where the venue holds a premises licence, we can also operate under the authorisation of the venue’s Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).

Because of the nature and usual complexities with corporate events we always quote these on a bespoke basis, so prices will often differ from our quoted website prices that are applicable for our private customers for events like weddings and parties.
For any corporate or prepaid events, a minimum fee may be applicable; contact us to discuss this further.
